Does a dual core processor double the space on it?

Stupid Question…. But I’m just wondering… I have an intel Dual Core 1.8ghz Processor. So since it’s a dual core, does that mean Ihave 3.6Ghz overall power?

no dual core means you have 2 processors which can handle twice as much as regular processors, but when it says 1.8Gz it means you have 2 0.9Gz processors.
