Glass Water Bottles   by Ronnie Davis

Have you ever considered using glass water bottles? Glass can be shaped into almost anything and any number of colors can be added. There are a number of benefits that glass provides. One is that it is BPA free and it won’t give an aftertaste. Another plus is that Glass Bottles are made in places other than China.

With a little research, you will be surprised as to how many companies actually make glass water bottles. You may be thinking why water bottles from glass because glass can break. However, there are special sleeves that you can purchase to protect your bottle. Don’t forget glass is easy to clean; it won’t harbor bacteria and won’t absorb toxins.

To show you that there are in fact options for different kinds of glass water bottles, we will review 5 different companies who offer an alternative to your plastic, flimsy water bottle. These 5 are: Aquasana, Lifefactory, Lovebottle, Rivé and Takeya. Each company offers quality and beautiful works of glass art for you to enjoy your cold and refreshing water from.

If you pay attention to the companies who make it to the Fortune
500 list, you may be aware of the name Aquasana. This company
offers individual bottles and also in 6-pack form. The sizes are 18 ounce for $26.99 and 27 ounce for $29.99. The glass is clear but you can choose from 6 cap colors and replacements are available.

The next company, Lifefactory, offers choices for adults, children/toddlers and baby. The adult sizes are 16 ounce and 22 ounce while child and toddler size is 9 ounce. For the baby,
there is a 4 ounce and a 9 ounce available. The toddler glass water bottles come with a sippy lid and the baby’s with a nipple. All caps/lids/nipples are leak proof and BPA and phthalates free.

If you want something really unique, give a Lovebottle a try.
These reminiscent glass bottles are available in 17 or 34 ounce bottles and priced from $12 to $20 dollars. You can choose a blank bottle and design it yourself, or buy one that has already been
designed. The cap is actually a swing-top lid that is comprised of ceramic, silicone and Stainless Steel.

This next option is more for the women, sorry guys. Rivé offers 3 unique collections which are: Elán holds 12 ounces, the Lynx
and the Savoy are both 16 ounces. The collections vary in colors and patterns but each bottle has a slight hourglass shape to it. Prices vary per collection but won’t cost more than $25.00

The last company is Takeya that originated in Japan but now has a U.S. division as well. The twist-cap ounce options are 16, 18
and 22 and sell for about $18.00. Each glass bottle comes with a
washable silicone jacket (this is where the color comes from) and are dishwasher safe.

For many, drinking water from glass has a much cleaner taste than plastic or other materials. Glass is designer friendly; it’s recyclable and easy to clean. If you want to make a difference, dry glass water bottles for a change.
